Charles Darwin was born 200 years ago and published the “Origin of Species” 150 years ago. In this “Year of Darwin,” 10 St. Norbert College students and Dr. Tim Flood, Professor of Geology, traveled to the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador to experience the natural history of some of the same places visited by Darwin. As a member of this group, Samantha Christian, Sophomore English major with a photography emphasis, student photographed and journaled these experiences.
The presentation was made March 31, 2009 during the St. Norbert College -- Celebrating Student and Faculty/Staff Collaborations. "Images of Darwin" showcased 10 favored, matted photographs out of over 4,000 taken. Captions described corresponding events from the trip and the aesthetics of the pieces themselves.
